It's hard to find time to read when you own a car service from JFK to NJ and are constantly zipping back and forth to pick up passengers. A hectic lifestyle is the reality for most people these days, which can leave you precious little free time to shop for groceries let alone sit down and read a book. Yet reading a book, whether it be a Christian book or not, will make you more knowledgeable and help you to relax. If you're not able to find time to put eyes to the page, or you can't see well enough to do so, you might consider looking into audio books.

Audio books are recordings of someone else reading the book out loud, like your parents and teachers used to do for you before you became a lawyer in Burlington. The recordings can be found in a variety of formats, though digital files are the most popular these days. If you're old fashioned, you can still find some on CD or even cassette tape. Digital files can be downloaded onto a portable audio player like an iPod or burned onto a CD and played in your car. As such they are a lot more versatile than printed books.

You have to be careful when buying audio books, because some of them are abridged. Abridged means that they have been shortened so that the recordings don't take up so much room on a CD or tape. If you don't want to miss anything on the history of the strapping system in America, look for a version that says "unabridged." Abridging is most common in books recorded to CDs or cassettes, where a large number would be needed to contain the book. It is less common in digital files.

The great thing about audio books is that you can listen to them while you're doing something else. You can hear a text about perennials while you're working in the yard with your hand garden tools or listen to a novel while you're driving your car. You can't do that with a printed book, which requires your full attention. Though you don't get the same practice with reading comprehension, many people find it soothing to have a book read to them.

You can find audio books in a variety of different places. If you're learning to be a Mississauga real estate agent you can get your texts in audio format from your college. You can buy audio books online through retailers like iTunes, Audiable, and Amazon and download them directly to your mp3 player. Most public libraries also have some audio books, either available to download online or in CD or cassette version in the physical library.
